I found this project that was very close to my needs. It scrapes the router's web UI, which is a pretty clever approach. The project hasn't been updated in a while tho and I had a bit of a hard time getting it running.

This is why I wrote router_prometheus. I have a pre-built Docker image. It is easily configurable. It only needs the router to have SSH running. And it's written to be easily adaptable to more router firmwares.
