    • Okay so a beacon is a device that emits a low power signal based on the concept of Bluetooth Low Energy. Google released a standard for these beacons called Eddystone which specifies the data format etc. Android SDK doesn't have built in support for beacons, it's more of an Apple thing, but you can check this library: https://github.com/AltBeacon/android-beacon-library
