WorkOS
The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
And VSCode is a decent platform for python development and works fine on a Mac. It'll certainly be better than Xcode itself, though you still want to install that regardless if for no other reason than to get all the useful command line tools. (I think it's a prerequisite for most package managers also?)
That's probably enough to get you started, but eventually, you may want to install a package manager like Homebrew to get better stuff.
