In some cases, however, it doesn't make any difference. Think of what happens with an MMPG. Game consoles connect to the manufacturer server, it's an outgoing connection so it just works, but then other people connect to the same server and participate in the same game. playit.gg facilitates the same thing using a VPN (client) solution. In neither case do other players require extra stuff; they already have it.
