It's way easier to just find devices other people have already checked to support "ESPHome", "Tasmota" or "Tuya Convert". "Tasmota" (https://tasmota.github.io/docs/) and "Tuya Convert" (a Tasmota tool) are a similar firmware that works on the same chipset which doesn't integrate as heavily with Home Assistant.
