I run mergerfs on the vm to create a single folder hierarchy of all the data disks.
In the setup I referred to - I provision a virtual machine with virtual disks (virtual disk images stored on various zfs pools) and on the vm I run snapraid to handle parity and redundancy of the data. Some disks are for data, some disk are for parity. The vm is Debain running omv.
