What distro? Are you using some sort of steam-native package? If you don't know, you almost certainly aren't using it. As the other person said, it's worth trying to install EAC runtime with steam. If that doesn't work, you could try Proton-GE.
Often, using the Flathub Steam Package fixes this issue without any tweaking.
