If you're open to an alternate approach, you could check out PaaS solutions! Basically the PaaS is your "DevOps team" and many of the settings and configurations you're seeing within that involved AWS ecosystem are replaced with sensible defaults. That means you can focus on developing your application rather than worrying about the nuts and bolts of how it's deployed. I am the Developer Community Manager at Render.
