If you're just looking for file syncing solutions, I use syncthing (https://syncthing.net/) between my usually-powered-on desktop and my laptop and it works great, the files sync almost instantly (minus those open in office, that has similar issues outside of syncthing though) and you can setup multiple devices to sync to as well, with some being setup to receive changes only and others to send changes only, things like that. I'd highly recommend it if that's the use case you have.
