Reason for coreboot is that I want to eventually modify the EC on the motherboard to tie into some custom SPI/UART boards I plan to attach to the motherboard in order to communication via CANBUS to the vehicle, and activate sleep state when the car powers down, and other automotive features such as automatic wake when the car powers up (Its sent over CANBUS), and also emulating the cars stock AudioGateway ECU which sends data to display on the cars cluster for navigation and whats playing (I've already reverse engineered all of that protocol and written a POC that runs on an Android headunit here and here. This setup uses a Arduino to talk to the cars CAN network).
