If you feel brave, one option it to install xanmod.org: as long as their version number is higher than stock kernel, it should be used to boot by default. Be aware that this may break some Pop feature, specially for System76 hardware. Otherwise, in my experience, it works quite well (but I have tested it only with Intel only machines, ymmv).
