  • stylegan2-pytorch

Simplest working implementation of Stylegan2, state of the art generative adversarial network, in Pytorch. Enabling everyone to experience disentanglement

just to put some of this in context from the ai research side: these models are basically toys. more specifically, they're designed to illustrate the effectiveness of a particular approach, not to actually be a useful tool. we've been able to generate images of roughly this level of realism for some time now (see BigGAN and StyleGAN), but the big problem with these models is that they aren't particularly controllable. you know why people were excited about when stylegan came out? it wasnt that you could render images like this. rather, it was that the input space was organized in such a way that you could control fine features independently from course features. if you read the paper, thats virtually all they talk about.

  • Killed by Google

Part guillotine, part graveyard for Google's doomed apps, services, and hardware.

Sometimes I feel so bad for whoever runs https://killedbygoogle.com, because google seems to love killing stuff. This shutdown is just another reminder to properly archive whatever you put in their services.
