[D] What’s the word on AMD gpus these days?

  • Not actually true, though it's understandable why you'd think that. AMD just hasn't documented consumer GPU support yet, which doesn't mean it doesn't exist. There's an open PR to add a "support matrix" which includes consumer GPUs and tl;dr all consumer cards except the RX 5000 series are pretty well supported, though they aren't officially validated (but they use the same GPU dies as the workstation cards which are).
