  • Tasmota

Alternative firmware for ESP8266 and ESP32 based devices with easy configuration using webUI, OTA updates, automation using timers or rules, expandability and entirely local control over MQTT, HTTP, Serial or KNX. Full documentation at

  • If you just want an "alarm clock bulb" that will change color temperature over a set period of time, this is a hub-less option based on any compatible RGB smartbulb flashed with the opensource Tasmota firmware.

  • switchbota

Replaces the factory firmware on the SwitchBot Plug Mini via OTA, enabling the use of Tasmota without disassembling the unit.

  • I don't have a huge amount of experience with OTA flashable bulbs, as I've mostly stuck to Zwave devices and switches over bulbs, but I did recently get a few Switchbot bulbs that were flashable OTA. I specifically got them because they were ESP32 vs ESP8266 based, were OTA flashable, and were on sale at the time (under $4/ea, vs the $15+ that they normally go for). There's some good flashing info here and here. The flashing process is a little involved (basically DNS spoofing and injecting the Tasmota firmware in a MITM attack) but doable, and still works as far as I know.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
