There's ERB for Electron desktop apps. Otherwise, I feel like any random webserver is a bit more straightforward than any random website. You define endpoints and when they're hit it triggers some functions before returning a response. For a React website, there's so many variables... you can choose from a variety of production-ready component libraries, or use their open source code to make your own to match an exact design. It's also common to choose a styling library, with leaders like TailwindCSS, styled-components, and Emotion all being used in thousands of production websites.
