Contrib repository for the OpenTelemetry Collector

I understand the implications of what Datadog did (or allegedly did, but wouldn't surprise me if it's 100% accurate). I'm looking for a clear description of what https://github.com/open-telemetry/opentelemetry-collector-contrib/pull/5836 intends to do. It's not immediately clear to me. . . I can figure it out but looks like I'll need to dig into that PR a bit.

  • signoz

SigNoz is an open-source observability platform native to OpenTelemetry with logs, traces and metrics in a single application. An open-source alternative to DataDog, NewRelic, etc. 🔥 🖥. 👉 Open source Application Performance Monitoring (APM) & Observability tool

Such a receiver would have been very helpful for a project like ours. I am maintainer at SigNoz, which is an open source observability platform and based on opentelemetry. It can be considered as an open source alternative to DataDog, NewRelic. Enabling datadog receiver would have enabled folks to send data from their DataDog instance to SigNoz otel collector. This would be very helpful for folks who are interested in shifting from DataDog to SigNoz or even just thinking to checkout SigNoz with their current data.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
