In "my version" of the PCPanel software I hacked in some support for the 5.x Websocket version (and dropped 4.x support). It's not working perfectly yet but it seems to do the trick.

The PCPanel software is built in Java and uses (a modified version of) this library (which as far as I can tell is the only viable option). As you can see on their github, that project is promising a 2.0.0 release to support OBS Websocket 5, but as of now it isn't released and their 5.x branch isn't working correctly (as mentioned here).
