When you hit mid-late game you'll start to hit bottlenecks in specific resources so you'll want to calculate with spays in mind so you're not wasting space with machines that don't work because of fully saturated belts. Use so you don't have to do the math yourself. Just select the game at the top and click the settings tab. Configure your default assembler, default transport belt, and proliferator self-spray so it remembers your preferences. Now just add your recipe and the quantity and it will do the math for you. Just round the required assemblers to the nearest whole number and be mindful that all the resources fit on a single belt. Build it, test it, and blueprint it for scaling up.
