I finally figured out why should you be using Firefox over Brave

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/privacy

  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • SoulBrowser

  • There is a not-so-famous example of Soul Browser for Android which markets in the name of tons of features, features you can never never imagine of, features you will never need and many people use it just for the sake of 'more features'. It is also based on WebView which again not many understand. But the catch is, the app info links to a GitHub page making people who don't think much and avoid checking assume it it as open source. But the GitHub page just consists of the language and image files and not the actual code. Damn!

  • Invidious

Invidious is an alternative front-end to YouTube

  • My workaround may not sound good, but this what I use is Chrome with Adguard , which may sound dumb (would love to know its flaws to privacy)... but the reason I use this is I believe Google already has enough data which can be used to understand my interests. Most people use YouTube (only some use Invidious). I know there are alternatives to almost every Google service, but due to lack of awareness and compatibility, people prefer Google products. The Blink engine on which Chrome works is well when compared to non-Blink other browsers on Android. To be fair, the search results of Google are better than other search engines. I know some people might be against this but those who are hard core privacy users already use GrapheneOS! Not talking about them! ;)

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.

  • privacytests.org

Source code for privacytests.org. Includes browser testing code and site rendering.

  • I know these points. Otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned them. You can check a few of them here, for example state partitioning. My point was not to show that one browser is better than the other. The goal was to make clear, that the OP didn't consider most privacy features and thus his conclusions to use FF over Brave are invalid.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
