The mod is awesome already even though it's pretty new, you should definitely try it out. You can play multiplayer as long as you set the server as local and not dedicated, and both have the same mods installed. You have to add a line to the launch command line in Steam to prevent it from potentially getting VAC banned (check that second link for info).
