Alacrity sadly doesn't have any support for image protocols, and the maintainer is a bit of a dick about adding new features (see: https://github.com/alacritty/alacritty/pull/4763 and the ligatures pr). Alacritty doesn't care about its users needs. They just want to clench to their own definition of "performance" instead.
Note that it autocorrected to western by accident. Actual terminal is named "wezterm" (https://github.com/wez/wezterm), sorry about that!
This is an example from my plugin, it's just not loading any modules immediately: https://github.com/ii14/neorepl.nvim/blob/647ae89b0f749c6a2fd4dbee805d5969623810c3/lua/neorepl/init.lua
Thatās fair, I wished this is how maintainers handled it, but it doesnāt seem to happen this way normally. I went on a bit of a search and sixel support you mentioned is another feature being requested in all the hip terminal applications. E.g. on kitty they first rejected it, then let someone go forward with an implementation, until that user themselves became maintainer of libsixel in the process and decided it was too insecure for kitty and nothing has happened sinceā¦ ā https://github.com/kovidgoyal/kitty/issues/2511
