If FreeBSD is so better than Linux why even caring about Linux?

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/linux

Our great sponsors
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • CUPS

    Apple CUPS Sources

  • A few months after the license change the main developer left Apple and the project is ever since pretty much dead; the main developer works on a fork. I think we can now disassociate CUPS from Apple. Hence, “CUPS” is not a satisfactory answer to “Had BSD grown a lot because of Apple contributions?”.

  • pfSense

    Main repository for pfSense

  • https://www.pfsense.org/ is build on BSD. But if you want a fast FW, you need an ASIC hadrware anyway. So OS is not that important.

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.
