Current CS student, looking to build a website from scratch

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/webdev

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • pages-gem

A simple Ruby Gem to bootstrap dependencies for setting up and maintaining a local Jekyll environment in sync with GitHub Pages

You can deploy your static files to GitHub Pages. It'll generate a domain name for you for free but you can also add a custom domain if you want. I suggest to start building your site using raw HTML/CSS/JS for now. And also learn how to use version control (GIT), so you can track your code changes and push your code to remote GIT repositories using GitHub, GitLab etc.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
