  I actually have waaay better results running through plain Wine. I had to use Wine-TKG, otherwise, Chrome doesn't show any page when using the upstream Wine. With proton, I don't know why, but my memory usage goes through the roof, the theming is incoherent and browsing through the catalog is waaay laggier. The video playback is the same on both tho..

  Not true. When using browsers on Linux, at the moment, Netflix goes up to 720p and PrimeVideo 480p. With Netflix, you can use this extension, which is available for Chromium-based browser and Firefox, but PrimeVideo doesn't have something like that.
