I should mention that your LiveArea settings will reset when you swap a memory card to another device. You can use vita database manager to backup these settings.
Flycast hasn't been released officially. It is still in development. You are probably using a build someone else compiled.
Have you tired this version? It's also buggy, we have never really had a great Vita Homebrew Browser for our systems. Unfortunately, the best way has always been to manually transfer files from the online database to the vita via PC.
Vitadeploymakes downgrading very simple, even has option to install Enso immediately after the downgrade. I'm not sure about the compatibility with DS4 plugins on 3.74, but your system will be more stable overall after installing Enso.
