  • I think they just add that line to make the exercise work, they'll probably explain it at a later point. To answer your question above, the way I learned the most was by doing challenges (Advent of Code 2021 to be specific), and contributing to a Kotlin web app an experienced friend of mine is working on. You could try something similar.
