  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale

  • coreutils

Cross-platform Rust rewrite of the GNU coreutils

  • If you like systems-y stuff, Rust is delightful, and offers plenty of opportunities to dig deep. My advice if you want to understand systems programming, but the O'Reilly Rust book, buy/read online the Rust PL, and go implement a Unix utility in Rust. Or implement a feature for one. See: uutils.

  • Canvas LMS

The open LMS by Instructure, Inc.

  • Block box tweaks is not what I meant. Have a look at Instructure Canvas (the Learning Management System) as an example of what I did mean. Full and current source is publicly available here: https://github.com/instructure/canvas-lms But the developers make their money by providing the software as SASS to large orgs that want the service, and the funding they get from the SASS product pays for the development of fixes and new features.

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.
