This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/PleX

  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • Tautulli

A Python based monitoring and tracking tool for Plex Media Server.

  • Set up Tautulli. It gives you access to some Plex server info quickly. You can also have it notify you when server conditions change.

  • ZeroTier

A Smart Ethernet Switch for Earth

  • Similar to you! I’ve got a headless NUC, and NAS that I manage from 8,500 miles away. I use TailScale to get remote access to my Plex and other servers. It works flawlessly. No need to muck around with router based VPNs or browsers (chrome). And with subnet routing I’m even able to type my NAS (which does not run TailScale) IP into the browser and access it as if I’m sitting in the same room. I have ZeroTier as a backup in case of any TailScale issues. I also use Tautulli to restart Plex if it stops (script). Plex (user account) is set to logon automatically so that it can HW transcode and immediately locks after logon. You can still RDP to it and manage it as needed.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
