For R, if you were to choose between Python and R, I’d say go with Python first, then if you have time, learn R. Programming concepts are language-agnostic, so going from Python to R will not be a problem, you’ll just have to learn some new syntax. And R is more so used by statisticians, whereas Python more for programmers. But you can’t go wrong with either. With that said, I found tremendous help from R for Data Science. Also, it’s free!
