Is this to let 3rd party services (like https://www.discourse.org/) sign in via your users credentials?
That's absurd. Things like this are why I built my own auth server. Yes, it's high maintenance, but it works for me.
Have you looked for other OIDC/OAuth2 packages. Here's one in Node. That seems very interesting. https://github.com/panva/node-oidc-provider
