If you’re talking about the terminal inside a floating window, I think fterm.nvim is one which people commonly use.
If you want a more hands on approach for creating simple floating windows in the middle of your interface, you can see/copy some of my code found in (my personal plugins so the documentation is very minimal) nvim-buoy and nvim-buoy-terminal. I think using a more established plugin in this case is definitely your best option though! :)
