I use my own mind.nvim plugin, but I want to upgrade it. Basically, it would still be the same thing, but with a tree-view (probably based as a source of neo-tree).

Obsidian (https://obsidian.md) with vim key bindings works great for all kind of notes including zettelkasten system.
neorg is another ambitious orrgmode plugin which makes some nice vhanges to the original org mode spec. Its still developing rapidly but its already quite usable.
