Discontinued Gamepad firmware for Raspberry Pi Pico and other RP2040 microcontrollers supporting Nintendo Switch, XInput and DirectInput

I am currently trying to build myself a custom all button arcade stick using the open-source firmware GP2040. The only 2040 board I currently have is the KB2040, however the pins only go from 2-10, is there a way I can still use this board while also being able to get access to the pins required as shown in the image? Or am I better off just purchasing a Raspberry pi Pico so I know it will work?
