Tdarr - Distributed transcode automation using FFmpeg/HandBrake + Audio/Video library analytics + video health checking (Windows, macOS, Linux & Docker)

I want to keep all my media files to be saved in a space efficiency manner ? I am eyeing at around 4k - HDR 7.1 Level storage with only select audio channels only. How can i automate this ? Few files run into 30-40GB , i want to limit their space , at the same time not compromise of PQ/AQ etc. Will this help ? (https://github.com/HaveAGitGat/Tdarr)

  • rclone

"rsync for cloud storage" - Google Drive, S3, Dropbox, Backblaze B2, One Drive, Swift, Hubic, Wasabi, Google Cloud Storage, Yandex Files

Well, the first thing to do would be to get that HDD and use it as a Parity drive. This will mean that your Array has redundancy that means that if a drive fails the data is not automatically lost but rather that now the drive is emulated from your parity drive and if you replace that bad drive, Unraid will restore it based on the Parity drive. However, that doesn't mean that the Parity is your backup but rather, as I said above, your redundancy. If you have Data that you don't want to lose then you need to do an external and probably offsite backup. That can be another drive you periodically connect to the server and copy everything over or even online storage like OneDrive, Google etc. With the help of Rclone you can mount those cloud drives and even use encryption to protect your files.
