Do what I did: set up a secondary computer just for torrenting with the client specifically bound to the VPN ( see the second image here: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/12287 ). Kill switch on, profile enabled to prefer P2P, done.

gluetun
VPN client in a thin Docker container for multiple VPN providers, written in Go, and using OpenVPN or Wireguard, DNS over TLS, with a few proxy servers built-in.
I recommend gluetun, it has support for most vpn services with minimum setup and allows you to use any torrent client you want.
