So web.whatsapp.com is great, and I don't have to go looking at a different app. I can see in the tab if I have waiting messages to read.

I beg to differ. I would have agreed with you a few years ago but now that alternatives like Tauri exist I automatically see all Electron apps as garbage to be honest.
