When qbittorrent shuts down, it has to do two things: First, it has to send updated states to all trackers since the last regular announce interval. Second, it does something with the fastresume files. (I don't know the details, but I know that on power loss this can cause some issue with metadata: https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/12730). Depending on the number of torrents you have, this can take some time. Both are obviously important: the first so your stats are correctly reported (if you use private trackers), the second so you avoid metadata loss.
