The tricky thing is that your VPN will be blocking the entire connection, but you really only want your torrent app behind the wall. Trying to scrape metadata with Plex from behind a VPN doesn't really work in my experience. I don't do it this way (I use Usenet instead) so I don't have a lot of experience with a good solution. What I would do is spin up a full virtual machine and have it running both VPN software and torrent software, but I think Raspberry Pis have enough trouble running lightweight Docker containers and would crumble under the weight of a full VM. Another solution is to grab something like https://github.com/haugene/docker-transmission-openvpn that's running a torrent client plugged into VPN. It will take some configuration but should solve your problem. There are a couple different Docker apps like this, so if that one doesn't work there are some alternatives.
