Switched to Linux at work, my experience.

  • onedriver

A native Linux filesystem for Microsoft OneDrive

  • For OneDrive, I generally preferred jstaf's OneDriver. I also used my own rclone script, but I don't really get how rclone work and I want longer caching. The only negative on OneDriver is that the caching is in a single database file, and sometimes file indexing makes it think I'm accessing the file, leading to a bloated cache that can't be selectively cleared, but for my usecase it worked fine. Haven't used it in a while though, as I found resilio to be good enough for my usecase (and because I got sick of paying for storage).

  • onedrive

    OneDrive Client for Linux

  • I hope that it could be helpful. I use https://github.com/abraunegg/onedrive as OneDrive Client for Linux.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.

  • deb-get

apt-get for .debs published via GitHub or direct download 📦

  • Other things... Flatpak generally works nice, better than snap for most GUI apps, but some stuff like TeamViewer isn't there yet, and even with Flatseal permission management, some things works much better/simpler when installed natively like the Everything-Search replacement FSearch. For those, deb-get is a pretty nice tool for discovery and get things set up quickly. OTOH, for apps I don't trust like WPS Office (which is unfortunately the best Office Suite in terms of MS Office compatibility and familiarity) it's nice to be able to just turn off its network access.

  • kinto

Mac-style shortcut keys for Linux & Windows. (by rbreaves)

  • While I gushed a bit about Ubuntu Budgie I also want to mention that an even better path is one that involves using Jump Desktop on macOS, a forked version of x11vnc (to support direct keyboard input & proper mouse scrolling still), and my kinto.sh project. It is very possible to run all 3 major OS's and with a simple swipe switch btwn any of them as though they are virtualized locally even when they are not.

NOTE: The number of mentions on this list indicates mentions on common posts plus user suggested alternatives. Hence, a higher number means a more popular project.
