Regarding youtube-dl, I remember someone mentioning they needed an external helper program called phantomjs to download from some sites. I really wouldn't recommend using phantomjs as it hasn't been updated since 2018 and I see it has known vulnerabilities too.

While on the subject of youtube-dl, back in March I switched from youtube-dl to a fork called yt-dlp. I don't know what the issue was but youtube-dl was abnormally slow downloading a small video from Youtube. It's worth keeping in mind if you have a similar problem. yt-dlp is in the openSUSE repo.
