Doki Doki Literature Club--hear me out on this one. I know everybody and their dog has talked about this one, but it really is a good VN. At the very least, it's special to me for being the only horror I've ever seen to get a physical, visceral reaction out of me. Then for the rest of the night I was reading it, it had me on edge and anxious. It's something I wish I could experience for the first time again. Aside from my own personal reasons to love it, it is genuinely creepy and unsettling before the pieces all come together, and that uncertainty of not knowing what's going on contributes to the overall creepy atmosphere.
