Yet Another Yum S3 Plugin (AWS SigV4)

  • I had a task a couple months ago to set up repo mirrors for our AWS servers. I didn't want to run my own webserver so I got the bright idea of doing a yum reposync into an S3 bucket and installing cob for IAM authentication. Run it once a month and use aws s3 sync to promote to higher stages and I'm done, right? Heh.

This is the public roadmap for AWS container services (ECS, ECR, Fargate, and EKS).

  • No matter what I did, I couldn't get reposync to work for me. Problems like this one didn't have a clear solution. I wanted to create a $distro/$releasver/$basearch hierarchy inside of a bucket and reposync can't do it because it has to replicate the structure of the source repo in order to reuse the metadata files.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
