Regarding programming. Wrong person dude, I've been a developer for 11 years. I did Java (on Linux), .NET (on Windows and Linux) and Swift (on macOS). Recently I did this as a hobby project. All OSes have their problems, pros and cons, but they are all pretty good at this point, that you can't point to a specific one generally. For specific uses, some are better then others for specific applications, but looking at the question OP asked, he's hardly a pro, so it will be better if he sticks to Windows imho.
