Jittery gameplay on Quest 2 + PCVR comes mainly from the old Oculus overlay stacking on top of the SteamVR overlay and causing problems. You can easily fix this by using the Oculus Killer and the Oculus Tray Tool app. Oculus Killer a simple file swap that turns the Quest 2 into an almost-native SteamVR headset and the OTT gives you the option to turn off ASW mode (aside from many other useful options) which makes most PCVR games unplayable on modern machines using Quest 2. I also had the lag/jittter problem with HL:Alyx on Q2 with significant framederops but after this it runs smooth as butter in fixed 90Hz/90FPS with lots of headroom. Also whenever i turn on Link (i use a cable) it just goes straight to SteamVR which is pretty convenient. This also works with Air Link but you need to remember to keep your cable options in Oculus Tray Tool at default. It messes everything up if you change them (low frameretes, stuttering, etc.). But you can always change them to default values and everything works again (this is confirmed with my friends Air Link setup).
