  • Codename One

Cross-platform framework for building truly native mobile apps with Java or Kotlin. Write Once Run Anywhere support for iOS, Android, Desktop & Web.

  • The only instance of an Arm processor having some sort of support for Java on the processor was the ARM926EJ-S. To run Java, it still needed a custom proprietary JVM that took advantage of its Java acceleration. That chip was discontinued back in 2006, with no ARM design returning to it. Not even getting into the idea that Java is used by only small number of desktop applications, we know that there are no custom Java extensions on any Apple SoC as it would have to either be submitted to OpenJDK for implementation in their JVM or Apple would have to make their own JVM. Neither has happened. Additionally, while running Java on iOS is technically possible, it's not due to any features of the Apple SoC. Instead, the Java is translated into machine code when compiling, so effectively you're not even using Java at that point.
