I just found Joplin, which is fantastic. It will allow me to condense my tools, moving all of (1), (3-6), over to Joplin. But I keep finding myself wanting to shoehorn (2) into Joplin. That is, I wish to add more structure, fields, etc., to my Joplin notes. I started doing this by adding JSON strings to the end of my Joplin notes (I provide more detail at in the post Adding features/columns to Joplin notes). This already feels like the wrong approach. It got me thinking, why don't I just manage my own personal NoSQL database as my PKMS? I'm sure there is some front end which has a nice web-clipper plug-in, markdown editor pop-out plug-in, etc., making it a more friendly tool for PKMS. Can anyone share there thoughts on or experience with this?
Take a look at Obsidian with Dataview. You get all of the benefits of plain text (Markdown) files on disk, plus a lot of flexibility in adding some structured, queryable data to those notes. There are Obsidian themes that let you add other views (e.g. cards) on top of dataview.
