I need the simplicity of serverless hosting, but it's too expensive

  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • sidekiq

Sidekiq worker on Render (by render-examples)

  • I've never used Render but I've heard other people say they like it. The convenience/ux is kinda what you're paying for with those services though, they're never gonna be as cheap as a regular VPS.

  • Caddy

Fast and extensible multi-platform HTTP/1-2-3 web server with automatic HTTPS

  • You should check out Caddy: https://caddyserver.com. Way easier to use than nginx if https is your sticking point, you don’t even really have to do anything except write a short 3-4 line config file. Pretty sure there’s also a docker image available. It’s a great project, automatic https be the default for most (all?) reverse proxies. Nginx needs to catch up with the DX

  • InfluxDB

Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale. Get real-time insights from all types of time series data with InfluxDB. Ingest, query, and analyze billions of data points in real-time with unbounded cardinality.
