Use Proton-GE only for Steam games inside Steam. This is the only way that I personally can validate whether or not a game runs like it should, and is also the only way I can validate it is running using Valve's runtime environment container. I will not provide support or assistance if you are using it with Heroic or some other game launcher or script outside of proton.
