Keep building projects. Try taking on something more complex or different than you've dealt with in the past- learn a new programming language, use a different kind of database or a new framework, build a very different kind of application. Maybe contribute to open source via a site like Up For Grabs. And if you do get to an interview stage and get rejected, always ask the company for feedback- you may not always get it, but any you do get should be helpful
