    Plain text accounting in Obsidian.md

Is it possible? Yes. There's a plugin for it. You can check out Obsidian Ledger. Though if your aim is just to have an accounting system where you genuinely own your data and have it stored locally, any Plain Text Accounting should suffice.

  • beancount

Beancount: Double-Entry Accounting from Text Files.

  • JetBrains

Developer Ecosystem Survey 2022. Take part in the Developer Ecosystem Survey 2022 by JetBrains and get a chance to win a Macbook, a Nvidia graphics card, or other prizes. We’ll create an infographic full of stats, and you’ll get personalized results so you can compare yourself with other developers.

  • ledger

Double-entry accounting system with a command-line reporting interface

  • hledger

Robust, fast, intuitive plain text accounting tool with CLI, TUI and web interfaces.

  • application

    Buckets Desktop Application (by buckets)

I use Buckets for that. It's very similar to YNAB, but your budget file is stored locally wherever you want it.

  • plaintextaccounting

The plaintextaccounting.org website, a portal to Ledger, hledger, beancount and co. Also the PTA wiki.
